Overview of Problem Based Learning (PBL Lesson 1)

Hello to all students taking part in this Grow Green project. We are now setting you a task. This task will require you to solve a question.

There are 4 stages in this task. The planning, doing, checking and action stage respectively. The timeline is as followed:

1) Overview of our PDCA. (30/03/09-03/04/09)
2) Planning (P) (30/03/09-03/04/09)
3) Do (D) (06/04/09-10/04/09)
4) Check (C) and Action (A) (13/04/09-24/04/09)

You will be sharing your findings and experiences during the Skype lessons.

You have been put into pairs. Each pair will have access to a wetpaint account. You will collaborate with students from the other 2 schools to devise an experiment to solve the question.

Remember, you will be assessed for teamwork and content via the wetpaint blog.

Devise an experiment so that half of the flower is coloured red and the other half is coloured blue.

Materials that will be provided for in the doing stage:

• 3 stalks of flowers
• red coloured dye
• blue coloured dye
• 2 beakers
• water
